Currently enrolled at an accredited US college or university? Get 10% off every order of FDM and SLA 3D printing. Same 2–5-business-day turnaround — verify enrollment in about 30 seconds with SheerID and the discount applies to your next quote.

Verify your Student eligibility

Powered by SheerID. Verification typically takes about 30 seconds, and the 10% discount applies to your next quote automatically.

How does the 10% student discount work?

Verify enrollment via SheerID (real-time check against the National Student Clearinghouse, about 30 seconds), then check out with the same email — the 10% discount applies automatically as a labeled line item on the Stripe receipt.

The discount is verified in real time, not promotional — SheerID confirms your enrollment status against the National Student Clearinghouse the moment you submit your school + name + date of birth. No transcript upload, no admin review, no waiting. Approval is good for the standard 12-month validity window; the same email then auto-applies the discount on every future checkout.

Volume tiers stack on top of the 10%, so a 25-unit capstone run lands around 16-20% under list. We do not require a school email — your account email at checkout just has to match the email you verified with.

What 3D printing materials are best for student projects?

PLA for cheap concept iteration, PETG for chemical resistance, ABS or ASA for impact / outdoor exposure, Nylon for mechanical assemblies, standard SLA resin for high-detail visual models. PLA is the typical entry point for early-stage thesis or capstone work.

For prototype iteration the cheapest path is PLA — strong enough for fit checks and form-and-function review, and the fastest to print. When parts need to survive testing, PETG handles chemical exposure and bending, ABS / ASA handle impact and UV, and Nylon (PA-12 / PA-CF) carries mechanical loads. SLA resins win when surface detail or transparency matters — visual prototypes, ergonomic reviews, optical parts, study models.

On any quote our engineers flag material risk before you pay. Free engineering review is bundled into the first three orders for verified-student accounts.

Frequently asked questions

Who qualifies for the student discount?
Currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate, and professional students at accredited US colleges and universities. Includes community college, four-year, graduate, and PhD programs. SheerID checks enrollment in real time against the National Student Clearinghouse — no transcripts needed.
How do I verify?
Click "Verify Eligibility" on this page — SheerID opens a secure popup, you enter your school + name + date of birth, and you're verified in about 30 seconds. The verification is good for the standard SheerID validity window (typically 12 months); re-verify any time you switch programs or schools.
How is the 10% applied?
Once SheerID confirms enrollment, the 10% applies automatically to your next checkout when you use the same email you verified with. You'll see the discount as a labeled line item on the Stripe receipt — nothing to enter, nothing to remember.
What materials are good for student projects?
PLA for early concept models, PETG for parts that need a bit more durability, ABS / ASA for outdoor or impact-tested prototypes, Nylon for moving / load-bearing assemblies, and standard SLA resin for high-detail visual models. PLA is the cheapest entry point for capstone and thesis work.
Does the discount stack with volume tiers?
Yes. The 10% applies first to the per-part price; quantity discounts (5+, 10+, 25+, 50+, 100+, 500+, 1,000+) layer on top. A typical 25-unit thesis-prototype run lands around 16-20% under list.
Can I use it for non-school personal projects?
Yes — verification is one-time per account and the discount then applies to anything you order from us, school-related or not. The verification confirms your enrollment, not the project's purpose.
What if my school isn't in SheerID's database?
Most accredited US institutions are listed. If yours isn't, SheerID will prompt you to upload a school ID or enrollment letter — they review within one business day. Once approved, the discount applies the same way.
Is my CAD file private?
Yes. Files are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (S3 KMS), stored privately, and never shared. We delete the originals 90 days after order completion (matching the privacy policy commitment for all customer files).
